Are you the PowerPoint Guru?

Above is a cool "PowerPoint Guru" T-Shirt I found on the web. The front has the famous paper clip from Microsoft Office and it also has the words "PowerPoint Guru" printed on the back

Are you the PowerPoint Guru for your organization?

I think most people don't realize that PowerPoint has been around for a long time and it was actually developed by a company called Forethought in 1987. Then later that year (July 1987) Microsoft decided to purchase the PowerPoint software and the company Forethought. In 1990 Microsoft went on to include PowerPoint as part of its Microsoft Office business software package. I believe PowerPoint really changed the way people communicate and exchange ideas with groups of people both large and small. Remember in the days before PowerPoint, the overhead projector was the big communications tool of the day. In contrast to the limitations of an overhead projector, think of the things you can do with PowerPoint, A laptop computer, LCD projector, hi-fi computer speakers, and a remote mouse. We have so much more potential with our modern day technologies. It's no wonder everyone is doing PowerPoint. I think it would be safe to say that most organizations these days have at least one person they call the PowerPoint Guru. The title of this employee may not be officially the "PowerPoint Guru", but it is still an important part of their job description. They may be the executive security or maybe the IT person, but I can tell you that one of their critical functions is to put together PowerPoint presentations for the boss. Therefore, since PowerPoint performs such an important function in most organizations, isn't it wise to regularly explore and keep up with all the latest PowerPoint related technology?

Hi,
I found your blog quite informative on Powerpoint Presentations. I am commenting since I could not find a email ID.

I am writing to ask you to review our product oomfo on your blog. It is an add-in that allows you to add great-looking animated & interactive charts to your Powerpoint presentations. Add awesome to your presentation is what we say. Here's the link to it: http://oomfo.com

While my main motive is to get our product out to more people, the add-in by itself is something people have not seen before. PowerPoint offers boring images for charts -- so if you introduce them to oomfo, I am sure they will love your post :)

Do let me know what you think. I would be glad to help you with any more information if you need.

Cheers

Greetings everyone, This webpage is terrific and so is how the matter was expanded. I like some of the comments as well although I would prefer we all maintain it on topic in order add value to the subject.

All of us - love hunters, others sneak up to the victim, some of them take care of it, others find the love by giving her own, the rest tend to her like night flowers at sunrise, powerless to resist in the rings of rash and emotional hunger.
