Modern Man/Woman Communicates

The world is becoming a PowerPoint planet. It is the way that people exchange ideas in modern society. However, Microsoft Windows version has only been around since 1990. It makes me wonder how did people communicate to groups of people before the days of PowerPoint? My grandfather told me they had this scary contraption called the "overhead projector" and that's how they presented information in the olden days. Boy have we come a long way. Times have changed and now it's easier for anyone to look professional while giving a computer presentation.
